Q: What exactly does Universal Kitchens offer?

A: While giving you the option that we can design your kitchen exactly as you want it, we sell kitchens in flat packs and can ship these flat packs anywhere in New Zealand. Not compromising on quality at all, our flat pack cabinets contain all the hardware needed, holes are pre-drill therefore they are beginner friendly, easy to assemble and install. No matter you are a DIY-enthusiast, professional tradesman or designer, we’d love to hear from you or meet you in person at our showroom.

Q: What is handle-free/handless kitchen you are specialized in?

A: We are the one and only business sells handle-free kitchen cabinets in flat pack in New Zealand. The cabinets come in various standard sizing and can easily fit in different kitchen layout and suit every budget. With continuous profile channels installed, our flat door kitchens give you a sleek modern look and added good safety feature for families with young children.

Q: What’s the material of your cabinets?

A: MDF boards with 19.5mm thickness for the Acrylic white doors, matt finish which is great for scratch and fingerprint resistant. You can choose other colours/finishes and they are MDF boards with 18mm thickness. Carcasses are made from 16mm thickness scratch and moisture resistant MFC (Melamine Faced Chipboard).  All panels have seamless laseredge clashing.

Q: How good is your guarantee and what does it cover?

A: Our cabinets and doors come with a manufacturer's warranty from the date of purchase which covers moisture or manufacturing defects for 10 years. 10 years warranty on Garis runners, while some hardware like Blum hinges and some handles carry a lifetime guarantee.

Q: Do you ship nationwide or internationally?

A: Yes. First step is to email us your request, let us know what items you are purchasing and where to. We would response quickly with a quote for the shipping cost.

Q: What’s the process and the timeframe to expect for a bespoke kitchen?

A:

STEP 1 – Measurement (a couple hours max). Every project requires 2 to 3 measurements. We take initial measurements to prepare layout plan and quotation. Depending on layout we usually take a second and third measuring along with our installer team before curating cut list for production.

STEP 2 – Consultation (a couple hours max). Overall measurements allows us to consult at detailed level in order to produce amazing customer satisfactory results. Whilst discovering new layouts and possibilities, we get to discuss panel colors, bench-tops, handles and more.

STEP 3 – Design (within a week, most cases under 2 days). At this stage we have communicated thoroughly on all aspects of your kitchen wish list, including budgets and more. We work on your kitchen design with you until we have created your dream kitchen design. 

STEP 4 – Production (2-4 weeks after deposit). Production stage usually takes 2-4 weeks depending on project milestone and factory workflow.

STEP 5 – Installation (1-2 days for cabinets, another 7-10 days for benchtops). Our talented installers will take it from here. Equipped with all tools of trade and all the experience one can have- the will make your dream into reality.

Q: What’s the return policy?

A: Unfortunately we do not refund or return for incorrect decision making for example the following reasons:

-         Change of mind

-         Your circumstances changed

-         Find cheaper products elsewhere

So please choose carefully or consult us before you place the order online. We are always here to help and guide you through. 

We recommend that you check your delivered items against your purchase order under 48 hours to see if there are any missing items or any returns or exchanges are required. If the package is damaged upon arrival. DO NOT SIGN / ACCEPT DELIVERY.

If the product is damaged or incorrect at no fault of the buyer, we will meet our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act. In that case, we require a written notice (email/txt) along with proof of damage/lost within 14 days from delivery date.
